EMOP Berlin 2025 - European Month of Photography
@BerlinWEIT
The EMOP Berlin – European Month of Photography – is a renowned photography festival that dedicates the entire month of March to photography each year, connecting numerous institutions across Berlin. The festival offers a unique platform for photography in all its facets, from classic documentary photography to experimental works and innovative artistic approaches. EMOP Berlin aims to bring together photographers, works, and themes from various cultural contexts while reaching a broad audience. At the heart of the festival are the EMOP Opening Days, which mark the official start of the event. From February 27 to March 1, 2025, visitors can experience a wide range of events at the festival center in the Akademie der Künste on Hanseatenweg. These include not only opening exhibitions but also panel discussions and artist talks addressing current topics such as the political practice of documentary photography, the climate crisis, and experiences of displacement.

Herspective photographers - European Month of Photography
@Crank
The exhibition “Zwischenraum” by the collective Herspective Photographers presents works by 24 female photographers who explore the concept of in-between space in the photographic discourse. Inspired by maritime navigation and the concept of “passing distance”, the exhibition delves into communication, trust, and the question of what happens when this distance is crossed. The exhibition venue, a former shopping mall in Neukölln, provides an impressive backdrop interwoven with stories of space, fate, and hope. Herspective Photographers is dedicated to increasing the visibility and creative agency of female photographers. You will surely be captivated by fascinating digital images from Lisa Wassmann’s series Somewhere Else (2007–2024) and photographs from Muriel Liebmann’s series Self Love.
